Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, the nation’s largest independent specialty pharmacy in the nation, announced today it has received limited distribution rights from Regeneron for its new drug EYLEA™ (aflibercept) Injection. On November 18, 2011, EYLEA (aflibercept) Injection was approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is indicated for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Macular degeneration is diagnosed as either dry (non-vascular) or wet (vascular) and is a leading cause of blindness in older adults. The wet form usually leads to more serious vision loss.
